How can brand events work with creators and social content?

Brand campaigns often involve events, creators, social content and media liaison at the same time. Beyond assigning owners, the brief needs to explain their relationship: what people should experience in person, what a video should explain, and what someone can do next.

Start with what the audience needs to know

Different products raise different questions. Some audiences first need to discover the brand; others know the product but need to understand its use; some want direct contact before deciding.

A useful brief states what the audience already knows, the main message to communicate and the intended next action. Those answers help shape the activity and creator content, and give partners a basis for assessing their deliverables.

Give the physical experience and video different jobs

An event can provide contact with a product, a demonstration or a conversation with staff. Creator content can explain a theme through personal experience, a familiar situation or a product introduction.

Ask which elements need to be experienced in person, which require more explanation and which can be communicated through a short visual scene.

For the Mannings skincare experience station, L Concept supported a mobile activation and sampling alongside YouTube collaborations and Instagram Reels. The project illustrates how a product theme can appear through both direct contact and creator-led content.

Make essential information clear to creators

Creators have their own voice and formats. Brands can support that work with clear product information, essential messages and relevant usage contexts, identifying where interpretation is welcome and where accuracy must remain consistent.

Before filming, align formats, review arrangements and publication timing. Content inviting people to attend needs the same dates, location and participation details as the event. A product introduction needs sufficient material and explanation to support its message.

Treat the visitor journey as part of the content

How visitors approach, understand an activity, complete it and find further information affects what they actually encounter. Production and communications therefore need to be considered together.

If an interaction is intended to explain a product feature, signage, staff explanations and the activity should support that feature. Creator filming also needs space and a workable relationship with visitor movement.

Separate delivery measures before assessing the whole campaign

Participation, samples distributed, views, interactions and enquiries answer different questions. Define each measure and how it will be recorded before discussing performance.

L Concept’s post reports more than 3,000 experience packs distributed at the Mannings activation. This is a delivery record; it does not establish unique attendance, purchases or enquiries without further evidence.

Separating the measures makes the review more useful: which content was watched, which participation steps need improvement, and which materials or arrangements are worth retaining?

For your next brief, prepare

  • One main brand message
  • The intended audience and next action
  • Distinct roles for the event, creators and brand social content
  • Shared information, timing and owners
  • How delivery and performance will be recorded

These details do not all need to be settled before the first conversation. They help reveal where teams need alignment and provide a clearer basis for discussing scope and budget.

This article draws on published project work to discuss general planning considerations. Actual arrangements depend on the brand objective, venue and budget.
